My art is all about portraying black people especially black women in a soft and magical way contrary to negative stereotypes. I source my childhood, movies and books I’ve read and my heritage as my biggest inspirations. Growing up, I noticed a lack of black characters the media I consumed. Thus, I strive to fill that gap through my illustrations as I understand how important and inspiring it is for people of colour, especially children, to see themselves in the media they consume.
