I create art I want to see more of in the wider world. I create collages featuring strong Black women, dancers and nature scenes by hand cutting paper silhouettes and pairing them with vibrant African textiles.
I am passionate about creating art embodying the beauty of the African diaspora. Your home is your sanctuary and bringing art into your home will reinvigorate and inspire you.
Strong Black women
I love creating portraits of strong women I know and admire in powerful poses with flawless, elegant Black skin. I welcome commissions of bespoke “Afro-portraits” so you can celebrate your loved ones in art with your choice of glorious cultural textiles.
My elders taught me how to garden in our extraordinarily large gardens in South East London. My visits to Ugandan countryside and safari parks inspired me to create my own wildlife scenes of tropical birds and lush ferns.
Seeing dancers from the African diaspora energises me and I enjoy the challenge of capturing such complex and sophisticated moves in my 2-dimensional art. I take inspiration from many periods of time from classical Kiganda dance styles from Uganda, flash dancing by The Nicholas Brothers and hiplet from Homer Bryant.
