Janet’s List is a curated platform that uses innovative approaches to connect consumers with brands by black women and women of colour from the UK. We do this through unique pop up concept stores in mainstream city locations, strategic retail partnerships and their direct-to-consumer website. Janet’s List recently curated the first ever virtual marketplace for the WOW Global Festival and recently collaborated with Somerset House and Coco de Mer.
Janet’s List sells a curated list of products and items from independent brands across the lifestyle category. This curation includes the hair list, the body and skincare list, the jewellery list, the accessories and gifting list and a face covering list.
Janet’s List also hosts an award-nominated, 5 star rated, top 200 business iTunes podcast ‘Making Money Moves’. Stylist Magazine included it in their list of 7 podcasts that improve financial wellbeing. Janet’s List has most recently been featured in mainstream and niche media including: BBC Radio 4, Grazia, Stylist, Evening Standard, TimeOut London, Daily Mail, Reuters and many others. The founder, Janet Oganah, has recently launched a Janet’s List YouTube channel.
Businesses by black women and women of colour face hurdles when it comes to visibility, access to funding and access to retail opportunities. At the same time, it can be challenging for people who are intentional about supporting authentic, independent, female + black or WoC brands to find these excellent brands. Janet’s List takes an aspirational and positive approach in tackling these challenges.
